Lord of the Rings, I give you the 1.36 hrs of plain torture. And I'm not just talking about the hero.
Needlessly gruesome, filled-with-loopholes stupid and so not-worth-the-time.

Salaams,
I checked this movie out after being persuaded by my cousin. He told me it was among Smith's best, but I definitely disagree. I think Independence Day, and Enemy of the State are Will at his best. The story line was good here but the ending could have been much better.
Smith's best? Now that's a short list. :P
His best is actually "The Pursuit of Happyness".
Check that out and tell your cousin to quit the thrill-high. :P
Wasalam.
I second what you wrote, Majaz.
Assalam Aliakum Khatoon,
I was searching this movie and came across this blog. I disagree with you in some aspect of this movie. That aspect would be the message.
If you watch this movie for the sake of watching a movie then it might be somewhat torturous, but if you watch this movie for the sake of getting something useful from the theme it portrays then you can easily map it to the proverb "Try, try again" or proverb "Dhoondnay se to Khuda bhi mil jata hai", and it might not be as torturous as it is supposed here.
I agree that the ground they took to portray this message has no practicality in it. But then again, as Allah says in Quran, Surrah Al Nahl, Aya 68-69:
68. And thy Lord inspired the bee, saying: Choose thou habitations in the hills and in the trees and in that which they thatch;
69. Then eat of all fruits, and follow the ways of thy Lord, made smooth (for thee). There cometh forth from their bellies a drink divers of hues, wherein is healing for mankind. Lo! herein is indeed a portent for people who reflect.
We haven't been able to find cure of every disease from Honey and we have try to find it. "and then which of thy Lord's favor will ye deny"
Correct me if I am wrong. I am not saying that Hollywood movies always has some message in it, but I found I am Legend otherwise. I am not relating the Ayat with this movie, I am relating the ayat with the proverb "try, try again" and inturn relating the proverb with the movie. Again correct me if I am wrong in this relation.
Fi aman Allah.
Interesting. You're finding God in Hollywood movies. :) I don't mind that you do ... I just hope that the custodians of religious teachings don't find you saying that out loud.
Dhoondne se khuda milay ya na milay... an over-done storyline and a cliched survival-plot was enough to convince me that this movie sucked, for sure.
I thought that try, try, try again is something you could even see in a silly but intelligent movie "Little Miss Sunshine" too.. I don' t have a problem with that message. I only have a problem with movies that have no point whatsoever.
No I am not at all finding God in Hollywood movies... I was just saying that the movie had a message... and that message is so true that even God has asked to do the same...
And again, I agree with you on the movie plot and stuff... it sucked as you say it did.
