The truth shall set you laughing.

This is absolutely hilarious (no pun intended) if nothing short of alarming.

Usually if you're feeling too sorry for yourself, it is advised that you look at lives which deserve more sympathy than yours. In this case however, we've found a new anecdote: American politics.

More specifically: Hillary Clinton.

Let's ignore the fact that she refuses to let go. Let's also ignore the fact that she mailed this strangely compassionate letter to her supporters (with obvious dual meanings) and let's also ignore that Obama actually didn't pull kindergarten 'shame-shame' pranks on her.

And let's focus on why people are voting for her. Because she's a woman.

Are y' kidding?

That's an undeniably pathetic reason to vote for a politician, for a candidate who wants to establish a future for your country at a point where your policies have more than just far-reaching effects on global politics. This is the presidential election, for crying out loud. Not a contest for a circus freak or a title role to a Hollywood blockbuster. If anything I feel nauseated that she's a woman, since she's proven to live the very stereotype: unreasonable and irrational.

I will not say that Obama and McCain are the messiahs for the future, but if I'd want to see some ration of common sense and dignity, I'd not look at Mrs. Clinton anyway.

US politics were never of much interest to me (I stopped paying attention when Bush was reelected); I am slightly Marxist, democracy is nothing but a smokescreen for the masses and the power elite. However, if someone starts to dance naked on the road chanting battle-cries, you're bound to pay attention at some point in time.

I hope Obama wins. And I'm not just saying that because he's a big-eared fellow with little hair to his name. I'm saying it because at least he's got the smokescreen working for him. When something like that doesn't work out for you (hint hint, Mrs. Clinton) I think it's time to gracefully step down and smell the Vice Presidentship.

Have given my own two cents to it: cent no. 1 and cent. no. 2. The rest of you please go out and do the same. At least tell the morons they've got democracy all screwed up.

(And thank you, Barooq. I finally got that dose of laughter. Especially with this comment that someone left. Hilarious. Hmm. Maybe this time I do intend the pun.)

haha... well said!

but if you see in terms of the projected policies which right now seem to be a lil better working, then I guess McCain is the better option :P as Obama doesnt seem to have a deeper insight of the economy n stuff, but then I am my self not much in the american politics, nor any other politics of the present day.... but when it comes to studying the proposed or given systems then yeah I am interested.

I was a pseudo-Marxist my self, but then my skepticism doesnt allow me to fully accept anything, at least any thing or a concept or a movement which can manipulate people, or to be apt masses, but then 99.999% of this world are masses, n masses are bound to be manipulated by definition ..... what I want is all of this world to turn rational, and indipendednt in making their choices, freethinking... but I guess this aint possible....

n yeah, I think that Hillary might actually run again for the president :D if she gets a chance to do that .....

Have a great weekend! :)

Any President of the United States is going to be a problem when it comes to far-reaching policies. The American nation and its implication for the world is yet to be understood by the most important people: the Americans themselves. It's a pity they're highly self-involved.

Masses always follow definitions, collective intelligence is always lower than individual intelligence, and that's something Marx underestimated. That's also why I'm never going to be a complete Marxist.

hmmm... well something about american presidents and their policies being a problem for rest of the world has been something totally understandable, but now we are looking at a phase in the american history where these far-reaching policies are becomming a problem for the american nation them selves.....

may be its time for a new enlightenment, a time for change as all of these presidential candidates have been saying, but lets see what happens.... I have always been in favor of changes, but we just cant predict which way they might take us....

I feel like reading Chomsky now, atleast I am going to listen to him tonight, I am sure I will find a lot on youtube. As I feel that I know so less :( n it is a fact!

No one can know everything about everything, Esfand.

And I suppose you should know better than to take the presidential candidates' words for 'change'.

If there's one thing my Dad taught me, it's never to believe a politician.

:D thats true ... no one can know it all .. but I want to know as much as possible :P

n yes your Dad is right! I dont take what they are saying, I mean I dont take any ones words for just what they say, infact what I meant was that I would like to sit back, chill and see if we get to see this change they are promising. But even then they can only delay what we all are expecting out of this all .... and may be not defer it for like forever :) coz I guess its about time that the world sees a new power struggle for a new country/nation to take this leadership role :D with china stretching and india flexing her muscles, who knows what happens next :)

That's what everyone's wondering. Let's see.

When Clinton's neck got on Monica's line, he gave orders to launch rocket attacks on Afghanistan ...whatever the pronounced rationale.

When Bush came he launched full fledged attacks on Afghanistan and Iraq to divert attention from internal weaknesses.

Obama, the budding entry, already has been openly saying 'I say attack the terrorists wherever they may be in the world'...a ploy to win more votes knowing how playing victim is the most favorite game of all the American dogs and bitches!

It doesn't matter which monkey gets to the top seat there... they all work for further deterioration of the world.
